About this piece:
This piece is a humorous melding of Michelangelo and Cyndi Lauper. In it I’m poking fun at thousands of years of female minimization in art and religion. Instead of the male arms and hands of Michelangelo’s famous work, I’m using female legs and feet. If this painting is taken to it’s ultimate metaphorical conclusion, God is a woman with striped stockings. Part of this dyptich is featured on the January/February 2009 cover of Nexus, Colorado's Holistic Journal.
